Support
ClosetCue runs entirely on your device, so most problems are solvable from inside the app. If something here does not cover it, write to us.
A real person reads this. Telling us your Android version and what you were doing when it went wrong saves a round trip.
Common questions
The suggestions all look the same
Almost always this means the app cannot tell your garments apart. Colour is a fifth of an outfit's score, and ClosetCue reads colour from the name you give a piece — there is no colour picker, because "black wool coat" is faster to type than three dropdowns.
If your items are called "Top" and "Bottom", every one of them falls back to the same default colour and the scoring goes half-blind. Open a garment and rename it to include a colour and the kind of thing it is: "navy wide-leg jeans", "cream linen shirt". Warmth, formality and season are read from the name too.
The other cause is a thin closet. If you own one pair of shoes, every outfit has to use them.
The weather is wrong, or missing
ClosetCue asks a weather service for the forecast at your coordinates. If you declined location access, it cannot — set your city by hand in My Profile, or enter the day's conditions directly on Style Today.
If the temperature looks off, check the city on Style Today is actually where you are. Switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit is in My Profile.
Where are my photos stored?
In ClosetCue's own private storage on your device, where other apps cannot read them. They are never uploaded, and there is no cloud copy — which also means there is no backup. Photos live and die with the app on that phone.
How do I delete my data?
Any of these removes it permanently:
- Delete an individual garment from inside the app.
- My Profile → Erase everything — closet, photos, wear history and settings, in one step.
- Clear the app's storage from Android Settings.
- Uninstall ClosetCue.
There is nothing on our side to request or erase, because nothing was ever sent to us.
Can I move my closet to a new phone?
Not yet. Everything is stored locally with no account and no cloud sync, which is the trade-off that keeps your wardrobe private. Moving to a new device means photographing your clothes again.
Background removal cut my garment badly
Cut-outs work best on a plain, contrasting background with even light — a garment laid flat on a bed or floor, photographed from directly above. Busy backgrounds and shadows confuse it. Retake the photo from the garment editor and it will replace the old one.
How do I change the language?
My Profile → Language. Nine are available: English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi and Simplified Chinese. Arabic switches the whole layout to right-to-left immediately, without needing a restart.
Is it really free?
Yes. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads, and no analytics gathering data to sell. The scoring runs on your phone, so there are no server costs to recover.
