ClosetCue Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 September 2026
The short version: your first week is free with no card. After that, outfit suggestions need a plan, but your closet is always yours — it lives on your phone, we never receive it, and it stays open whether you pay or not. Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in your app store.
ClosetCue is published and operated by Sarang AI Technologies Inc., a corporation incorporated in Alberta, Canada. In these terms, “we,” “us” and “our” mean Sarang AI Technologies Inc., and “you” means the person using ClosetCue. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. How we handle your information is described separately in our Privacy Policy.
Your account
- An account is for one person. Use an email address you can receive mail at, and keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use ClosetCue. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- You can delete your account at any time, from My Profile → Delete my account in the app, or at closetcue.app/delete-account.
The free week
Every new account gets seven days of full access, and we do not ask for payment details to start it. When the week ends, the parts of ClosetCue that suggest what to wear — daily outfits, the week ahead, packing lists, A or B and inspiration — need a plan. Your closet itself stays open: you can still browse it, edit it and save a copy of it.
The free week is meant once per person. We may decline a new trial to accounts created only to repeat it.
Plans and payment
ClosetCue offers a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, and a one-time purchase that unlocks the same features without a subscription. The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your currency, as supplied by your app store.
- Payment is taken by your app store — Google Play on Android, the App Store on iPhone — under that store's terms. We never see your card or bank details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year, at the then-current price, until you cancel.
- To cancel, use Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) or, on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. The store manages the billing, and we cannot reach it. Cancel in the store first.
- If a subscription price changes, your app store will tell you before the new price applies, under its own rules, and you can cancel before it does.
- The one-time purchase unlocks the paid features for your account for as long as we offer ClosetCue. It does not renew and is not charged again.
- A new phone: sign in to the same account and tap Already paid? Restore my purchase. What you paid for belongs to your account, not to one phone.
Refunds
Because the store takes the payment, refunds go through the store. Purchases made on the App Store can only be refunded by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play purchases you can ask Google, or write to us — we are able to refund Google Play orders ourselves, and we will consider any reasonable request. None of this limits any right to a refund you have under the consumer law where you live.
Your closet and your photographs
The garments you add, the photographs you take and your wear history are yours. They are stored only on your phone, and we never receive them, so we claim no rights in them of any kind.
That also means we cannot recover them. If you lose or reset your phone, uninstall ClosetCue, clear its storage or use Erase everything, your closet is gone unless you kept a copy. My Profile → Save a copy of my closet writes everything to a file you control, and Restore from a file brings it back, on the same phone or a new one. Keeping that copy is up to you.
A or B, and sharing
When you send two looks to someone to choose between, the picture goes through whichever app you pick — a messaging app, email, or anything else on your phone — under that app's terms, not ours. Only share photographs you have the right to share, and do not share pictures of other people without their agreement. Votes are counted on your phone and are not kept once you leave the screen.
Suggestions and the weather
Outfit suggestions, colour matching and background removal are automatic, worked out on your phone from what you have added, and they can be wrong. Weather comes from a third-party forecast service, and forecasts can be wrong too. Treat suggestions as suggestions: look out of the window before you trust a forecast with your coat.
Using ClosetCue fairly
Please do not:
- use ClosetCue to break the law, or to harass, embarrass or harm anyone;
- try to get into anyone else's account, or into our systems;
- overload, probe or interfere with our server, or create accounts in bulk or by automation;
- copy, resell or redistribute the app, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows you to.
The app itself
ClosetCue — its software, name, design and text — belongs to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it on devices you own or control, for your own use, under these terms and your app store's rules. The licence ends if your account is closed for breaking these terms.
Changes to the app, and if it ever closes
We improve ClosetCue over time, which can mean changing or removing features. Our server can occasionally be unavailable; your closet keeps working on your phone when it is.
If we ever stop offering ClosetCue, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days in advance. Your closet stays on your phone, and you can still save a copy of it.
Ending your use
You can stop using ClosetCue and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — for example, one used to attack our systems or to repeat the free week — and where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.
No guarantees
We work hard to make ClosetCue useful and reliable, but to the extent the law allows, it is provided “as is,” without promises that it will always be available, error-free, or right about what to wear. Some places do not allow these promises to be excluded; if you live in one, the rights your law gives you still apply.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as a closet lost with a phone we never had access to, or an outfit that did not suit the weather. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us for ClosetCue in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Alberta. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protections of the law where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows it.
If you got ClosetCue from the App Store
These points apply in addition to everything above:
- These terms are between you and Sarang AI Technologies Inc., not Apple. Apple is not responsible for ClosetCue or its content.
- Your licence covers Apple-branded devices you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow, including through Family Sharing where it applies.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for ClosetCue. Support comes from us at support@closetcue.app.
- If ClosetCue fails to meet any warranty that applies to it, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for ClosetCue.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about ClosetCue — including product liability, failure to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar law — and for investigating and answering any claim that ClosetCue infringes someone's intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use ClosetCue, such as your mobile data agreement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
If you got ClosetCue from Google Play
Google Play's own terms also apply to downloading ClosetCue and to payments made through Google Play. Google is not responsible for ClosetCue or its content.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change matters for people who pay — what a plan includes, or how renewal works — we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can cancel and delete your account; continuing to use ClosetCue after the change means you accept it.
